Abstract

The development of visual image has been linked with the historical progression of humanity, that has been passed various phases which influenced by the developments in modern sciences. This profound impact has fueled the evolution of visual image as an independent science; as a consequence, it was necessary to develop the tools that facilitate its design.
With the dawn of the Industrial Revolution in Europe, the concept of image design began to emerge as an independent field towards the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century. This parallel development between industrial progress and the science of image design has led to the change of the concept of image design, giving rise to diverse schools and approaches that emphasize a multitude of design philosophies. In addition to the evolving nature of the concept itself, because of the development in this field.
The history of image design has evolved to embrace the application of modern technology in serving various fields, giving rise to diverse theories and philosophies that have formalized design into a systematic and scientific discipline, that underscores the reciprocal relationship between theory and practice, highlighting the immense value of design as a science and how we apply it in our practical life with a conscious and purposeful approach, helping modern societies to develop through this technologies and the informatics revolution, to the Internet and electronic design.
The scientific and technological development of the design process in today's era hinge upon two fundamental pillars:
First pillar: This pillar lies in continuous progress of scientific knowledge and the appearance of cutting-edge theories of image design that has profoundly influenced the designer's mindset and, consequently, the design process itself of visual image.
Second pillar: This pillar spine around the link between designer and technological development that seamlessly integrates into the design process, manifesting in the final product, whether it be a cultural or artistic work.
